Amazing work mate - hit it on the head.
Amazing work mate - hit it on the head.
Really liked this - had that Futuristic Synthy atmosphere, a lot of variety in the melodies and the progression was done well.
My only personal 'criticism' (more taste really) is that it could have been spicier with some hard kicks/percussion and sidechaining after the drops (e.g. @ 1:22).
Edit* Artist requested deeper review:
0:00 - 0:54 - Nice plucky intro that nicely transitioned into a mellow Egyption sounding melody.
0:55 - 1:21 - This sounded like it could have been a big build, the bass was lackluster but did the trick.. If you had faded it out as the Riser FX kicked in it may have made more of an impact in the next section.
1:22 - 2:16 - After the drop, again, It didnt feel like a solid transition from the previous drop. Some impact effects or even a light crash, I feel, would have made it more 'epic'. The Kick is pretty minimal and the clap is generic (more reverb may help). I really like the BAM sounding vocal, definitely adds to the song a dark futuristic feel. Although I do like this song, this section was my least favourite.
2:18 - 3:11 - Nice and cyberpunk like. Really liked the crunchy synth that panned from left to right. This synth riser that sounded like an electronic cat going 'No No No No' at 2.48 was a nice touch. The drums again, didnt add much, for me anyway. I guess a kick and a clap just doesn't do much for me - but understand that for a minimal song, that may be all you need (although from the description it wasnt aiming for that)
3:12 - 4.06 - Went very abrupt into the break down from the previous section.. a riser with elements fading out would have worked really well when transitioning into this melodic element.
4.07 - 5:00 - I like how you went hard with the buzzing synth, it worked well to emphasize a sort of climax chorus. The percussion could have added more elements (even some softer open hats, or a closed hat to the kick) to really push/enhance the final climatic section.
5:02 onwards - Nice outro. Beeps really added to the previous mentioned futuristic feel. The section doesn't really need an improvement as it does the trick with leading the listener out.
*Disclaimer - I am not a professional critique and only really make music myself as escapism/hobby (If you find that it needed much more in depth technical analysis). Again, apologies for the previous shorter review.
Great job, 4.5/5
The song is pretty good! Reminds me of something you would hear on fast paced game like Jet Set Radio.
For me, it could have been a bit more beefy and louder - if that makes sense? Great job though.
Thanks! I see what you mean, it's definitely something that I can improve in the future.
Bit short. Composition is a little sporadic, however; it is a good techno synth song that I can picture in something to do with Cyberpunk/futuristic level on a game.
Thanks for feedback, i'm still working in improving my musical skills.
Like it!
Really good. Captured the 80s Synthwave to a T. Well done :D
Your vocals? Really nice either way :)
Well done.
Yeah! :D I used kind of a crappy mic for most of it unfortunately, so it was a bit of a nightmare fitting it in the mix. Got a new mic on the last day I was making it and decided to leave it as is. Thank you very much!
Mate, excellent work - love trance. You hit the nail on the head with this. We know its not massively popular on Newgrounds and that 'trance' is put under a pretty large varied umbrella nowadays (again, especially on here)..but you have stuck to what it actually is, progressive, melodic, euphoric and uplifting...and there are still many people who love this sort of stuff.
Well done.
Thank you for that comment, yes i hope i can reach out to them.
One of my favorite Trance tracks (Lange Ft The Morrighan - Follow Me being my all time). Glad to see some really good Trance producers and aficionados on here. Inspires me to go back and make/develop some more Trance :)
+1 Follow mate!
Thank you i hope ican keep up with trance nowdays its not very popular style of tracks at newgrounds atm :)
Great song. Love the vocals, are they yours? Fits the uplifting progression really well :)
Good luck in NGUAC!
Thanks, and I made the vocals with Vocaloid5. I decided to add some extra detail and an opportunity to use it again.
Im an average 'bedroom producer' and just have fun with it. I do this in my spare time outside of work and have no aspirations to make it big. If you like any of my tracks - thank you :)
